Northampton Town Supporters' Trust was formed in January 1992, as a result of a large public meeting attended by over 600 fans. This meeting was called by a group of ordinary supporters, including Rob Marshall, editor of the fanzine What a Load of Cobblers, and Brian Lomax, in response to a financial crisis at the club and a series of misleading statements issued by the then chairman.

Owing to a lack of clear information about development at Sixfields, the Trust made two Freedom of Information requests to Northampton Borough Council (NBC) which reveal that, up to the end of 2019, Northampton Town FC (NTFC) had not informed NBC of any completion schedule for finishing the east stand.

The Trust's annual raffle was drawn by members of Northampton Ladies football team in Carr's Bar at Sixfields stadium last Saturday evening, following the 4-1 win over Morecambe.
