Northampton Town Supporters Trust welcomes the completion of the East Stand and the commitment of the club to spend £6m to facilitate this.
The opening of the East Stand represents a significant improvement to the stadium. It is heartwarming to see this long-awaited project finally completed and for Sixfields to be looking better as a result.
It has taken 13 years to reach this point, but the Supporters Trust hopes that the stand’s completion will allow the club to move forward.
The Trust looks forward to the club’s owners setting out how they hope to use the remaining land to support the financial sustainability of the club into the future.
The Trust still hopes to work with the club in the future to build upon the positive outcome of the East Stand project, and to supporting the team as it works hard to confirm League One status for next season.
