Trust update - October 2022

27th Oct 2022

ACV land bid position

The Supporters Trust has submitted for a £3 million bid for 22 acres of land around Sixfields Stadium, including the 3.61 acres parcel of land covered by the ACV directly behind the East Stand at Sixfields (the old athletics track land).

This bid is now with West Northamptonshire Council pending a decision. The Supporters Trust is bound by commercial confidentiality in respect of the bid but this will be lifted, and a plan announced, should the bid be successful.

The council however is subject to a judicial review of its process, brought by Cilldara, in awarding a land deal to County Developments Northampton Ltd (CDNL). It is not known how long this judicial review will take.

This is a second bid, following a joint venture partnership agreement with local company Goodwill Solutions which was later withdrawn.

30th anniversary of the Trust celebrations

Update:-

NTFC 125 dinner – Thanks to kind sponsorship from Corran Close Ltd, Trust members enjoyed an evening at the County Ground celebrating the club’s 125th anniversary.

Brew 92 celebration ale – the special Phipps ale proved very popular and literally went down extremely well. Unfortunately the beer is sold out and the brewery does not have capacity for a Christmas run.

1970s NTFC players’ reunion – a super evening, kindly hosted by St Crispin Social Club and sponsored by Silverstar Travel. The Supporters Trust organised the evening and welcomed back plenty of famous faces from the 1970s for an informal evening of storytelling!

1998 Bristol Rovers game stadium art print commission – copies of a print commemorating Ian Clarkson’s goal in 1998 play-off victory over Bristol Rovers at Sixfields will shortly be available for sale, with a discount available to Trust members.

The print, signed by the goal scorer and Cobblers manager Ian Atkins – will be on sale shortly. More information to follow.

No Finer Town! –a book chronicling the Cobblers 125-year history, by Andy Roberts, will be published in November. Again it will be discounted for Trust members. More information to follow.

Anniversary celebration raffle – this will be held in the New Year and will be free to enter for Trust and Club 500 members. More information to follow.
