Trust update - November 2022

3rd Dec 2022

ACV land bid position

There is no change to the status of the Trust’s bid to buy land at Sixfields, including that behind the East Stand which had been registered as an Asset of Community Value (ACV).

However, a decision has been made to grant a Judicial Review hearing into West Northamptonshire’s Council decision to agree a land deal with County Developments Northampton Ltd, a company wholly-owned by Northampton Town FC.

This decision will halt the sale process until such a time that the hearing has taken place and an outcome determined.

Trust meeting with club chairman Kelvin Thomas

Supporters Trust chair Andy Roberts is hoping to meet with Kelvin Thomas alongside a representative from the Football Supporters Association.

The meeting has been scheduled for later this month in a bid to bring the club and Trust closer together following a clear breakdown in the relationship.

Board discussion with concerned members

Lengthy discussion took place between board representatives and five visitors at the last Trust board meeting on 9 November.

The exchanges were healthy and constructive, with the board taking clear note of the concerns that were raised about the tone of public debate between some individuals affiliated with the Trust, the football club and some fans on forums and on social media.

Trust members are welcome to attend monthly board meetings – the next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 8 December, please email ntfctrust1992@gmail.com if you would like to attend.
