Welcome to the new Trust board
· Chair Andy Roberts welcomed the new Trust board to its first meeting. The 12 board members are:- Andy Roberts (Chair), Bob Souster (Vice Chair), Bob Clarke (Treasurer), Ian Atkins, Keith Buckby, Rob Duncan, Heidi Green, Derek Krajewski, Tom Packer, Jeffrey Roy, Kevin Simons and Bhyll Stephenson.
Statement on Gamesmanship
· The board agreed to release a statement condemning the prevalent gamesmanship in football and the inability of the football authorities to call it out and stand up for fair play. This followed the incident which saw Aaron McGowan dismissed in the home match with Crawley Town. The Trust is working with the Football Supporters Association on a campaign urging the authorities to take action to combat play acting and cheating within football and so protect the integrity of the sport.
Sixfields stand and land latest
· The Judicial Review brought by Cilldara against West Northamptonshire Council’s decision to sell land at Sixfields to Northampton Town FC/County Developments Northampton Ltd is due to be heard on 28 and 29 March. If the judgement is in favour of Cilldara, the bidding process for the land will have to start again. If the judgement is in favour of NTFC/CDNL, the draft contract between the club and the council can be finalised, enabling the sale of the land to go ahead. The board will finalise its own position, on the stand and land behind the East Stand at Sixfields, at its next board meeting.
Trust meeting with club chairman Kelvin Thomas
· The board will seek a follow up meeting with Kelvin Thomas once the Judicial Review into the land sale is settled.
Governance
· The directors agreed on a standalone meeting later this month to discuss and adopt policies on social media communication, elections and diversity and inclusion.
Away travel to Tranmere
· The Trust is looking to run a coach to the final game of the season at Tranmere Rovers on Monday 8 May, a Bank Holiday with a 12.30pm kick off, including a pub stop after the game. For more information, please contact Roger Averill on 07802 437422.
