NTFC Confirmation Statement now filed after serious delay
Last week the Supporters Trust posted on social media its concerns on learning that Companies House had issued the club with a notice warning of a striking off and dissolution.
The club was seriously late in filing its annual Confirmation Statement and the club was quick to respond, advising supporters on social media and in comments to BBC Northampton that the matter was being dealt with, and that the listing of the document would appear on the Companies House website imminently.
The warning notice was subsequently published in the UK Government publication, the Official Gazette (20 August).
Notification that the club’s Confirmation Statement has been received by Companies House appeared yesterday (22 August) and it will appear online when processed.
Sixfields stand and land deal
It is encouraging to see work progressing on completion of the East Stand by early next year. However this will see £2 million (land purchase) and just under £6 million (stand completion) added to the club’s existing debt, increasing the overall debt to £16 million. This debt is owed to one person – the club owner David Bower – and it is hoped that club revenue from the sale of land around Sixfields will see the debt paid and other investment benefit to follow.
