Trust update - August 2021

14th Aug 2021

Sponsorship of Northampton Town Women

The board has agreed to renew its sponsorship of Northampton Town’s Women’s team for the 2021/22 season – we will be giving the Community Trust £3,000, once more split between training tops and the team’s away travel. We would like to wish both Cobblers men’s and women’s sides all the very best for the new campaign!

Meeting with West Northamptonshire Council

Representatives from the Supporters Trust will be meeting with councillors and officers from West Northamptonshire Council next month to discuss the Trust’s concerns about Northampton Town FC owner David Bower’s plans for the East Stand and wider Sixfields land development. The Trust is still awaiting written answers to the 25 questions it asked about plans for the East Stand and wider Sixfields land development. The Trust wants answers in written form so they are clear, understood and on the record.

West Northamptonshire Council – member liaison

West Northamptonshire Council has approached the Trust to suggest that two council members be appointed to the Trust in a liaison role. An invitation will be extended to selected representatives to attend the Trust’s next board meeting, scheduled for Thursday 16 September.

Trust board changes

Cathy Armstrong has stepped down from the Trust board and we would like to thank her for the support she gave the Trust over the last six months.
Joining the board are Derek Krajewski and Chris Payne, who have both made constructive contributions to the business of the Supporters Trust in the last few months – welcome Derek and Chris!

Cobblers Travel 2021/22

The Trust is once again running its Cobblers Travel service to away matches this season – travel will include pub stops for longer trips! To book, please contact Jim on 07840 355864.

Anniversary celebrations

Plans are under discussion to mark the Trust’s 30th anniversary next January, in the run up to the football club’s 125th birthday celebrations in March.
