The Supporters Trust has objected to the football club's planning application for blanket warehousing on land at Sixfields.
This is in line with a survey of members last year and an absence of more detailed information requested from the club, in particular information about how the development will benefit the football club long term.
We recognise that the sale of the club's land asset will likely pay back the club's debt to its owners, in part or in full, but we have yet to see a financial plan outlining how this development will place the club on a more sustainable footing in the years ahead by way of increased investment benefit.
We are realistic about the outcome of the application, given the council's preference for industrial development to meet continuing demand for logistics businesses.
But we hope that councillors can mitigate the proposals in line with concerns we have expressed around its emerging Development Plan - the loss of the old athletics track lease land, registered in the name of the club but with unanswered questions as to who will in real terms benefit from it - the building density and parking, traffic and noise concerns.
