Thank you GRS for the clarification!

13th Apr 2026

We are grateful to GRS for the clarification around the East Stand payments, which is all we asked for in our recent statement.

It is always tricky assessing the football club's up to date financial position when the presented accounts are nine months old and the figures therein are far from transparent in comparison to many other clubs at the same level.

If the club is saying it has updated accounts available, to 31 March this year, we would like to see them so we can assess them and share them with supporters. That would be very helpful.

We are not sure what our resignation from the Football Supporters Association (FSA) earlier this year has to do with the club's financial position?

Our resignation as an affiliate member of the FSA was agreed for several reasons unconnected with that referred to by club chairman Kelvin Thomas.

The Supporters’ Trust is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. It has never been regulated by the FSA, whose attempts to extend their influence to us we rejected outright as having no validity.

What this has everything to do with is to once again create a diversion and blame the Trust for the club's current ills, which is frankly tiresome and unbecoming of a so-called community football club.

The unpalatable truth is that the clear focus of the club's owners this season has been on getting their warehouses deal over the line.

That ambition sadly has not been matched in trying to keep the team in League One.

The club has nothing to do with the Trust and, by the same token, the Trust board is quite happy not having to deal with the club owners, given their appalling behaviour to the Trust board - and what we consider to be the complete disrespect shown to a large section of the club's fanbase - over many years.

* The Supporters Trust was not contacted by the Chronicle & Echo before publication to ask for our response to the various allegations made by chairman Kelvin Thomas, which we regard as spurious and without merit or foundation.  A right of reply was not forthcoming and we will be taking this up with the editor.
