Supporters' Trust holds first meeting with new owner Kelvin Thomas

11th Dec 2015

Northampton Town Supporters' Trust has held a positive first meeting with new chairman Kelvin Thomas following his takeover of the football club.

It was the first time that members of the Trust board have sat down with Kelvin since his completed purchase of the club - and the first since an initial meeting a number of weeks ago during Kelvin's early weeks of interest in buying the Cobblers.

The meeting was a positive one with constructive dialogue on how the Trust can work alongside the football club, and we are delighted that Kelvin has agreed in principal to attend an Open Forum with fans in January. More details will hopefully be made public in the coming weeks.

The Trust was also happy to hear that the chairman is committed to meeting with us on a regular basis, and we look forward to further talks over the next few months on how the Trust can work with Kelvin in the short, medium and long-term, in the best interests of the football club.

Kelvin Thomas said: "It was great to finally be able to sit down with the Supporters’ Trust officially, and I felt it was a very positive meeting.

“It is important that we listen, take advice and gain knowledge from all of our fanbase as we continue to learn more about the club.

“There will be many initiatives we will be able to work with the Trust on, and it felt good that there seemed to be some common goals."
