Today's development on the Sixfields stand and land deal is welcome, in as much as it suggests we are approaching the end of a regrettable saga which has blighted the fortunes of the football club for far too long.
The Trust will not stand in the way of any deal that looks after our football club in the long term and protects what is a precious community asset for the town.
As always, the devil will be in the detail and we will need to see the valuation report and learn the detail of the proposed deal before commenting further.
Our abiding concerns centre around the standard of the completed east stand, the preservation of the club's historic land footprint and the prospect of increased debt being placed upon the club.
We will be addressing these concerns with West Northamptonshire Council as a matter of urgency.
