Trust board update

February 2020

Sixfields development

A media release has been issued today detailing an update on the status of development at Sixfields. This follows two Freedom of Information requests made by the Trust to Northampton Borough Council.

Meeting with NTFC

The Trust board has written to club chairman Kelvin Thomas saying that, on reflection, now is not the right time to sit down for a meeting. However, we said we would be happy to do so in future if there was anything he wanted to discuss with all board members.

New Trust website

The new NTFC Supporters Ltd website is now live, with a forum section created to discuss topics such as Trust membership, events, community ownership, Sixfields development and safe standing.

Supporters registering for the forum are required to post under their own name and need to have a verifiable email address. Check out the forum at www.ntfctrust.co.uk

Justice4Harry campaign

Trust board members Shane Webster and Keith Buckby have kept in close touch with Tim Dunn, the father of teenage Cobblers fan Harry Dunn who was killed following a road traffic collision near to RAF Croughton last summer.

The Trust is supporting the Justice4Harry campaign and Keith and his son helped Tim out with a bucket collection prior to the FA Cup home tie with Derby County. The collection raised £1,400.

Northampton Town FC played a big part on the night, agreeing to feature Harry’s photo on the scoreboard which prompted a minute’s applause on 19 minutes and helped raise awareness of the campaign to a national football audience.

Club 500

The Trust’s Club 500 fundraiser requires just a few more members to enable bigger cash prizes to be distributed in the monthly draw. If you would like to sign up to Club 500, and help the Trust act in the best interests of Cobblers fans, please contact organiser Roger Averill on rogeraverill1952@gmail.com

Next board meeting

The next board meeting will be held on Thursday 5 March at Kingsley Park WMC in Northampton - any Trust member is welcome to attend as a guest but if interested should make a formal application to Helen Hickman via email ntfc_trust@outlook.com
