Membership Report



Membership of NTFC Supporters Limited (The Trust) stands at exactly 600 members as of 10th November 2005, made up as follows:

§ Adult Member 85
§ Family Member 49
§ Concessionary Member 27
§ Life Member 439

As you can see Life Members make up nearly ¾ of the total membership and are the highest number that they have ever been ~ even compared to 1992 when the Trust was originally founded to help preserve the very existence of Northampton Town Football Club.

A close look at the membership database reveals some interesting facts:

Ø 37 new members joined when buying their season ticket through the Club
Ø 40 new members joined on the Trust coach to the Mansfield play-off game '03/04
Ø NTFC General Manager, Tony Clarke, was a founder member of the Trust
Ø Tony's successor as Northampton South M.P. has recently joined the Trust
Ø Only 20 of the Trusts founding 100 members still maintain their membership
Ø Over 2000 people have been a member of the Trust since foundation
Ø Most distant Trust members:
· Seattle, Washington State, U.S.A.
· London, Ontario, Canada
· Hong Kong

To comply with the Data Protection Act we have to be very careful about controlling access to  members details. I maintain the membership database on a password protected Excel spreadsheet and only myself, the NTFC Supporters Ltd Chair and Secretary, have unrestricted access. By doing this we ensure that members details are not passed on to any third party who might wish to try a spot of unsolicited direct marketing ~ phone calls, mailshots, spam emails etc.

One of the objectives of the Board is to raise the membership towards the magical 1000 member mark. I would therefore like to ask all members to be as proactive as possible in recruiting new members or encouraging lapsed members to re-join. The links between the Football Club and Trust have never been stronger and a healthy Trust membership might yet have some part to play in persuading the Borough Council that the Sixfields re-development plans should be given top priority.
